Judges as concerned by the state of the court system as the rest of us

A recent report in The Law Society Gazette says that a survey on judicial attitudes shows that more than 40% of senior judges intend to quit early within five years.  The report says that the judges who responded painted a picture of “a judicial environment dogged by low morale, crumbling buildings, personal safety concerns, pay and pension cuts, and a mounting workload”.  I have blogged for some time now about the warnings judges have issued about the critical state of the family justice system but government ears seem to be deaf.  I think it has been an eye-opener for many of my clients in recent years as to how slowly the court system progresses their cases.  Judges do their best to achieve justice within the landscape they have been given by the government.
